The ultimate purpose of life for most people is to be happy and fulfilled and make others around them happy. Whether one is pursuing Money, Fame, Success, Relationships, Service, etc. – one is basically doing it to be happy in life and the way to sustain that happiness is to feel fulfilled.
Every person is unique and special and if you just be yourself (don’t try to be somebody you are not for someone else) and connect with your inner self, you will experience the love and joy that is within you. You don’t need to be anything, achieve anything or have anything to get happiness.
Happiness is defined as … “Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy”
The following aspects of life contribute to your happiness and fulfillment:
Physical Well Being – Being healthy, fit and having energy to do things you want
Emotional Well Being – Being in control of your emotions and being able to change your emotional state quickly when you are down
Love/Relationships – Being able to give and receive love unconditionally; Having great relationships and connection with everyone
Financial – Be financially independent, lead and provide a quality life for your family and not be stressed about your finances
Career / Growth – Do what you love, succeed and grow in it. Make a difference in people’s life in your journey.
Spiritual – Connecting with your spirit (inner self). Contribution to society and helping others (giving back)
When any one of these areas is lagging behind or out of balance, it impacts our quality of life and happiness.
This might seem contradictory at first - We don’t need to be/achieve/have anything, but yet we are focusing on all of these. As you go through your journey in life you will realize that focusing on these aspects will help you understand what truly gives you happiness.
Everyone deserves a truly amazing, abundant, happy and fulfilled life in every aspect and can achieve it if they want to. If you really believe, feel and visualize what you want to achieve and then take action on it, you can create an amazing life for yourself. Everyone should pursue their ideal life while they learn to be happy with their current situation. Happiness is an emotional state and you can learn to be Happy with your current situation by learning how to change your emotional state quickly (if you are not happy).
My thoughts and beliefs are greatly influenced by various people I consider as my mentors through the knowledge they have graciously shared with me. The biggest influence in my life comes from My Parents, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Rhonda Byrne and Tony Robbins. There are many others (family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances) who have also contributed to my growth. I am truly grateful to everyone for that.
Some of the core practices that I use and have integrated in my daily life like Visualization (Law of Attraction), Goal Setting, Managing my Emotions, Gratitude, NLP, Meditation, Pranayama (Controlled Breathing), Workouts, etc. are based on the teachings and writings of these mentors.
My New Year and Life resolution is to look at every aspect of my life and be the best I can be in each of these areas and to lead an amazing and fulfilled life and spread that happiness with others.
